NL Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker player on the globe by quite a few of the top pros. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before his first birthday. His grandfather introduced him to penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to learn anything he could about poker. Phil routinely told his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He didn’t let the detrimental feedback from other people kill his dream of being one of the greatest poker competitors in the world.
Phil began playing intently after acquiring a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his abilities at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The first number of years for Phil were a learning experience and coming away with a win wasn’t a regular thing at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP when he made two final tables and came away with his first WSOP bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the last table he destroyed many of the better known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil made a decision to take his game to the successive level and moved out west to Sin City. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to discipline and a continuing passion for poker. He says that he’s learning every single day and is very abashed about his accomplishments. Phil knows he makes blunders in each game of poker and always aspires to get better.
Although Ivey has come first in some big tournaments, he prefers destroying money games on a regular basis.
