No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been labeled as the greatest poker competitor on the planet by quite a few of the top professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before his first birthday. His grandpa introduced him to penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was hooked on poker and wished to learn everything he could about the game. Phil routinely would tell his elders that he was going to be a professional poker player. Phil did not permit the adverse feedback from other people kill his goal of being one of the greatest poker competitors on the planet.
He started playing intently after acquiring a false ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his techniques at the casinos of Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a teaching experience and winning wasn’t a normal thing at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he made two final tables and won his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the closing table he defeated a number of the better known professionals including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil decided to take his game to the successive level and moved out west to Las Vegas. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his success to dedication and an eternal passion for poker. He states that he is learning every day and is incredibly abashed about his achievements. Phil admits to making blunders in each game of poker and always strives to improve.
Even though Ivey has come first in some large tournaments, he prefers winning money games on a normal basis.
