No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been labeled as the best poker player on the globe by most of the top-ranked professionals. He was born in Riverside, CA and moved to NJ before reaching the age of 1. His grandpa showed him to penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was hooked on poker and wished to learn anything he possibly could about poker. Phil would tell his grandparents that he was planning on being a professional poker player. Phil didn’t let the adverse feedback from others kill his ambition of being one of the strongest poker players on the planet.
He started playing seriously after getting a false ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his techniques at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a teaching opportunity and winning wasn’t a common outcome at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 WSOP when he made 2 final tables and came away with his first WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the last table he destroyed quite a few of the well known professionals including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil decided to take his game to the successive level and moved out west to Las Vegas. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Ivey credits his success to dedication and an undying love for poker. Phil says that he’s picking up skills every day and is very abashed about his success. Phil knows he makes mistakes in each session of poker and constantly aspires to improve.
Despite the fact that Phil has won some large tournaments, he likes winning cash games on a normal basis.
