NL Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been labeled as the best poker contender on the globe by most of the top-ranked pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to New Jersey before his first birthday. His papa taught him penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was hooked on poker and wanted to learn everything he possibly could about poker. Phil routinely told his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not allow the detrimental comments from others destroy his ambition of being one of the greatest poker players in the world.
Phil began competing intently after getting a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his techniques at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The initial few years for him were a teaching opportunity and winning was not a regular thing at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he made 2 final tables and won his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the last table he destroyed quite a few of the better known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil made a decision to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Sin City. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Ivey credits his success to dedication and an immeasurable love for poker. Phil says that he is learning every single day and is incredibly abashed about his success. He knows he makes blunders in each session of poker and constantly strives to get better.
Even though Phil has won some big tournaments, he likes winning cash games on a regular basis.
