NL Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the number one poker player on the globe by many of the top-ranked professionals. He was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before his first birthday. His grandpa showed him to one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was hooked on poker and wished to pickup every little thing he possibly could about the game. Phil routinely would tell his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t allow the adverse comments from other people destroy his dream of becoming one of the greatest poker players on the planet.

Phil started competing seriously after acquiring a false ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his skills at the casinos of Atlantic City. The beginning few years for Phil were a teaching period and winning was not a normal outcome at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he made 2 final tables and came away with his first WSOP bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the final table he defeated quite a few of the well known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He decided to take his skills to the successive level and headed out west to Vegas. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Ivey credits his success to dedication and an undying passion for the game of poker. Phil says that he’s learning every single day and is incredibly abashed about his success. Phil admits to making errors every single game of poker and always strives to get better.

Although Ivey has come first in some big-time tournaments, he prefers winning money games on a regular basis.
