No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been referred to as the greatest poker competitor in the world by many of the top-ranked pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before his first birthday. His papa showed him to one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to learn whatever he possibly could about the game. Phil routinely would tell his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not let the adverse comments from other people kill his goal of becoming one of the best poker players on the planet.
Phil started playing seriously after getting a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his techniques at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The first number of years for him were a learning experience and coming away with a win was not a common outcome at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 WSOP where he achieved two final tables and won his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the last table he defeated many of the well known pros including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil made a decision to take his game to the next level and headed out west to Vegas. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to dedication and an immeasurable passion for the game of poker. Phil says that he is picking up skills every single day and is quite abashed about his accomplishments. Phil admits to making errors in each game of poker and constantly aspires to get better.
Despite the fact that Ivey has come first in some large tournaments, he favors winning money games on a regular basis.
