No-Limit Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been referred to as the best poker contender on the planet by many of the top professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before reaching turning one. His papa taught him one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was hooked on poker and wished to discover everything he could about poker. Phil routinely told his parents that he was planning on being a professional poker player. He did not allow the detrimental feedback from other people kill his dream of becoming one of the best poker competitors on the planet.
Phil began playing intently after acquiring a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He honed his abilities at the casinos in Atlantic City. The initial few years for him were a teaching period and coming away with a win wasn’t a regular outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP when he achieved 2 final tables and came away with his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the final table he destroyed quite a few of the better known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil decided to take his game to the next level and headed out west to Vegas. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Phil credits his achievements to discipline and an eternal love for poker. Phil says that he’s picking up skills every day and is incredibly humble about his achievements. Phil admits to making blunders every single session of poker and constantly aspires to get better.
Although Ivey has come first in some large tournaments, he likes destroying cash games on a regular basis.
