No-Limit Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker contender on the planet by quite a few of the top professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to NJ before reaching the age of one. His grandfather introduced him to one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to learn whatever he possibly could about poker. He routinely told his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t let the detrimental feedback from other people annihilate his goal of becoming one of the best poker players on the planet.

Phil started competing intently after getting a false ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his techniques at the casinos in Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for him were a learning experience and coming away with a win wasn’t a regular outcome at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he made 2 final tables and won his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the final table he destroyed a number of the better known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his game to the next level and headed out west to Vegas. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Ivey credits his success to dedication and an eternal love for poker. He says that he’s picking up skills every day and is very abashed about his accomplishments. Phil knows he makes errors in each game of poker and always strives to improve.

Despite the fact that Ivey has won some big tournaments, he likes destroying cash games on a regular basis.
