No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker player on the globe by many of the top professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to NJ before reaching the age of one. His grandpa showed him to penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wanted to learn anything he could about poker. Phil routinely told his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not permit the detrimental comments from others annihilate his ambition of being one of the strongest poker competitors in the world.

Phil started playing intently after getting a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his skills at the casinos of Atlantic City. The initial few years for Phil were a teaching opportunity and winning wasn’t a normal thing at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP where he made two final tables and came away with his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the final table he defeated many of the well known professionals including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his game to the next level and moved out west to Sin City. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to dedication and a continuing love for poker. He says that he’s learning every single day and is incredibly humble about his success. He admits to making blunders in each game of poker and always strives to improve.

Despite the fact that Phil has won some big tournaments, he favors winning cash games on a normal basis.
