NL Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been referred to as the greatest poker player on the globe by most of the top-ranked pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and moved to NJ before reaching turning 1. His grandpa taught him penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was hooked on poker and wished to discover every little thing he possibly could about the game. Phil routinely told his elders that he was planning on being a professional poker player. He did not permit the adverse comments from other people kill his ambition of being one of the strongest poker players on the planet.

Phil began competing seriously after getting a false ID by the name of Jerome. He honed his skills at the casinos in Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a learning period and coming away with a win wasn’t a regular outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP when he made two final tables and won his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the final table he destroyed a number of the better known professionals including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil decided to take his skills to the next level and moved out west to Las Vegas. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his success to dedication and an immeasurable passion for poker. He says that he is picking up skills every single day and is very abashed about his achievements. Phil knows he makes errors every single game of poker and constantly strives to improve.

Even though Phil has come first in some big-time tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a normal basis.
