NL Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been labeled as the best poker player in the world by many of the top-ranked pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before his first birthday. His papa taught Phil penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to pickup every little thing he possibly could about poker. Phil routinely told his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not allow the adverse feedback from other people kill his dream of being one of the best poker players on the planet.
Phil began competing seriously after acquiring a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his game at the casinos in Atlantic City. The beginning few years for Phil were a learning period and winning was not a normal thing at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 WSOP where he achieved two final tables and came away with his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the final table he defeated quite a few of the better known pros including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil decided to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Sin City. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Ivey credits his success to hard work and an immeasurable passion for the game of poker. Phil says that he is picking up skills every day and is incredibly abashed about his accomplishments. Phil knows he makes mistakes every single session of poker and always aspires to improve.
Despite the fact that Ivey has won some big tournaments, he prefers winning cash games on a regular basis.
