No-Limit Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been branded as the number one poker player on the globe by most of the top pros. He was born in Riverside, CA and moved to New Jersey before his first birthday. His papa taught Phil one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wished to discover everything he could about poker. He routinely told his elders that he was going to be a professional poker player. He didn’t allow the negative feedback from others destroy his ambition of being one of the best poker competitors on the planet.
Phil began competing seriously after getting a false ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his abilities at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The initial few years for him were a learning period and coming away with a win was not a normal outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP where he made 2 final tables and came away with his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the final table he defeated a number of the well known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He made a decision to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Las Vegas. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Ivey credits his success to dedication and an undying passion for the game of poker. He says that he’s picking up skills every single day and is very humble about his success. Phil admits to making mistakes in each session of poker and constantly aspires to get better.
Despite the fact that Ivey has won some big-time tournaments, he prefers destroying money games on a normal basis.
