NL Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been labeled as the greatest poker contender on the globe by many of the top-ranked pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to NJ before reaching turning 1. His papa taught him penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wanted to learn every little thing he could about the game. Phil routinely would tell his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t permit the negative comments from others destroy his goal of becoming one of the best poker competitors on the planet.

Phil started competing seriously after acquiring a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his skills at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The initial few years for Phil were a teaching experience and coming away with a win was not a normal thing at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP where he made two final tables and won his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the closing table he defeated a number of the well known professionals including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He made a decision to take his skills to the next level and headed out west to Sin City. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to dedication and an undying love for the game of poker. He says that he’s picking up skills every single day and is incredibly abashed about his achievements. Phil admits to making mistakes in each session of poker and always aspires to get better.

Even though Phil has come first in some big-time tournaments, he prefers winning money games on a regular basis.
