No-Limit Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been referred to as the number one poker contender on the globe by most of the top-ranked pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to NJ before reaching the age of one. His papa taught him one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was hooked on poker and wished to discover anything he could about the game. He routinely would tell his parents that he was going to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t allow the detrimental comments from others annihilate his ambition of becoming one of the greatest poker competitors on the planet.

He started playing intently after getting a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his game at the casinos in Atlantic City. The initial few years for Phil were a teaching period and coming away with a win wasn’t a common outcome at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 WSOP when he made 2 final tables and came away with his first WSOP bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the last table he defeated quite a few of the better known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He decided to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Las Vegas. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Ivey credits his success to hard work and an eternal love for poker. Phil states that he’s learning every day and is incredibly abashed about his accomplishments. Phil admits to making errors in each session of poker and always aspires to improve.

Despite the fact that Ivey has won some big tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a regular basis.
